The National Center for Women & IT (NCWIT) Collegiate Award recognizes outstanding undergraduate women for their computing and technical accomplishments.  Applications for this year's award are being accepted through February 15, 2015.  In order to be eligible to win the $7,500 cash award and attend the NCWIT Summit, women must be a junior or senior computing major and a member of NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Community (join now).

Washington University in St. Louis has compiled an extensive list of scholarships and fellowships that cover a broad range and include opportunities for students pursuing STEM.  They are listed in alphabetically by scholarship name and include: AT&T Undergraduate Research Program, Environmental Protection AgencyScience to Achieve Results Fellowship, National Science Foundation and Science Education Programs.

Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Tri-State Area, Inc. offers scholarships to students in financial need who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership and community involvement.  There are four scholarship programs that students can choose from: ASIA (Asian Students Increasing Achievement), AAFA (African American Future Achievers), HACER (Hispanic American Commitment to Educational Resources) and Scholars (Open to all high school seniors, no ethnic criteria required).  Students may only apply to one of the scholarships.

NEFCU is again offering scholarships and grants to students who either are members or whose parents/guardians are members as well as teachers who are members.

Student scholarships include the Making a Difference Community College Scholarship and the Making a Difference College Scholarship (five each of $1,000 and $1,500 respectively) and the Making a Difference Family Scholarship (12 $1,000 vouchers).  The Making a Difference Premier Scholarship is offered to winners of the previous three for a chance at an additional $20,000.

Teachers can win grants of up to $250 to help them develop innovative projects for their classrooms.  Educators in public, private or parochial schools in Nassau and Suffolk County are eligible.
